EuroMAB 2026
September 14 - 18
EuroMAB is a biennial four-day conference for stakeholders from 308 UNESCO biosphere reserves in 53 countries across Europe and North America. The event is an opportunity for participants to meet and discuss collective approaches to managing the interactions between people and nature to support the conservation of biodiversity, and to test innovative solutions to promote sustainable development.
The chosen theme for EuroMAB 2026 is Interwoven Futures: Co-creating sustainability with nature and communities, which will focus on the integration of different knowledge from various perspectives, such as traditional, local, Indigenous, cultural, generational, and multi-species, in approaches to conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability. Through this theme, the conference will celebrate diverse knowledge and collaborative approaches that are required to achieve a more sustainable future.
To elevate youth voices, perspectives, and experiences, EuroMAB 2026 offers a preliminary Youth Conference from September 12-13, 2026. The Youth Conference will create a dedicated space for youth, biosphere region actors, and knowledge holders to come together for capacity building and knowledge sharing opportunities. Drawing from the EuroMAB 2026 conference theme, Interwoven Futures, the youth conference will consider how generations can unite in the pursuit of a sustainable future with the goal of strengthening support for youth participation, collaboration, and decision-making in BRs.
