Living Wonders of the Salish Sea

Discover the fascinating world where land and sea meet during this hands-on NatureKids adventure at Seaside Nature Park in Qualicum Beach. Together, we'll explore the rich marine habitats of the Salish Sea through interactive activities, games, and a guided beach exploration.

Begin your adventure with a fun, family-friendly scavenger hunt using the park's educational interpretive signs to uncover amazing facts about local marine life. Then, join us for a beach walk to discover the incredible plants, animals, and hidden treasures revealed by the tide. Prefer to stay on accessible pathways? The park's gazebo will host engaging ocean-themed games, tactile learning activities, and marine ecosystem challenges so everyone can participate and learn.

This event is designed for curious young explorers and their families and is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while discovering why the Salish Sea is one of Canada's most remarkable coastal ecosystems.

Accessibility: Seaside Nature Park features paved pathways, ramps, shaded areas, and accessible washrooms. The guided beach walk takes place on uneven, rocky terrain and may not be suitable for everyone. Accessible educational activities will be available in the gazebo throughout the event for participants who prefer or require a more accessible experience.

What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear suitable for rocky beaches, a water bottle, and your sense of adventure!
