Get ready to explore, document, and protect biodiversity in the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region (MABR)!

MABR iNaturalist Training & BioBlitz preparation - Free iNaturalist training will be provided in preparation for the MABR-wide public BioBlitz, with a specific focus on the Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OECM) application sites of Qualicum Beach Community Park, Grandon Creek, Heritage Forest, Parksville Wetlands, and French Creek Estuary Nature Preserve.

Help map biodiversity across our biosphere region, strengthen data for conservation recognition and the OECM applications!

Training will include downloading and learning to use the iNaturalist application. The MABR-wide BioBlitz will be June 6-8, 2025 

Note: The June 6-8 BioBlitz is not supervised by the MABR. Several local stewardship groups from the Mid Island Stewardship Caucus (MISC) will be participating. Please reach out to them directly, or email ray.woroniak@viu.ca if you would like to participate with a stewardship group.
