EuroMAB 2026: Call for Session Proposals
Submissions Open
September 15 – December 15, 2025
EuroMAB 2026 Theme
EuroMAB 2026 will be held from September 14–18, 2026, in the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region within the shared territory of Snaw-naw-as and Qualicum First Nations (Parksville, British Columbia, Canada).
The theme for EuroMAB 2026 is Interwoven Futures: Co-creating sustainability with nature and communities, inspired by diverse knowledge systems and approaches held throughout the Biosphere Reserve network that shape our future(s). This theme focuses on the integration of different knowledge from various perspectives, such as traditional, local, Indigenous, cultural, generational, and multi-species in approaches to conservation, biodiversity, and sustainability. The theme will celebrate diverse knowledge and collaborative approaches that are required to achieve a more sustainable future.
Submitting your Proposal
We encourage proposals that range from practical to theoretical and across sectors involved with UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, including non-profits, government, academia, communities, and the private sector. We welcome creative interpretations of what our theme may mean across disciplinary, cultural, knowledge, and generational lenses. Overarching topics that can be used to guide your proposal include, but are not limited to, biodiversity and conservation, sustainable and resilient communities, science and research, climate change, culture and knowledge systems, and futures.
EuroMAB 2026 aims to create an inclusive and accessible event that encourages knowledge sharing from diverse backgrounds. We welcome submissions from all ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, religions, and sexual orientations.
